New Year's Eve Party With Rhine a Huge Success
Almost 200 people attended the New Year's Eve Party, co-hosted by Sun Parlour Curling and the Rhine Danube Clubs, 87 of them were curlers of their guests. Judging by the great fund that we had, this combined party turned out to be a great idea. Special thanks to Herb Grundner for his work in bring the two clubs together and in making the event so successful.
Join Us For New Year's Eve
Sun Parlour Curling Club has joined forces with the Rhine Danube Club of Leamington to host a New Year’s Eve Party. Tickets are now on sale. The evening, at the Rhine, includes a traditional German dinner, a complimentary bottle of wine at each table, a DJ, and a late evening buffet. Tickets are $55.00 each. A table for ten costs $500. Someone in each league will be selling tickets. Invite family and friends and we will have a great evening. Only 300 tickets will be sold so as not to over-burden the facilities at the Rhine. However, the more there the more fun we can have and the larger the financial benefit to the club.
Curling Club Open House

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone, and welcome back to curling. I have a few reminders for you:
1. The first half of the season is just about finished and the second will start in a couple of weeks. Did you know that, if you are interested in adding another night to your curling schedule, or if you would like to make changes to your schedule, now is the time? Some leagues re-shuffle their teams for the second half and that is the time to step into a new league.
This happens for the Monday Men's league, the Tuesday Mixed, and the Wednesday Ladies' league. It might also be possible to join the Friday mixed but this is usually done in pairs because of the scheduling format.
If you would like to add or change a night, contact the convener as soon as possible. See the list below. Their numbers and email are on the membership lists that were distributed earlier.
Monday Men's Jerry Paine
Tuesday Mixed Larry applewhaite
Wednesday Ladies LouAnn Bigley
Friday Mixed Melissa & Roy Paine
2. The signup sheets for the January to April BINGOs have been posted in the hall at the club. Please consider working a Bingo to support our Junior Curling program. It is not a difficult job and it takes only a few hours. Volunteers earn $10 in bar bucks. Sign up the next time you are at the club.
3. There is still room for three more teams in the First Annual Don Emmerson Memorial Senior Bonspiel on January 22. If you would like to enter a team, contact Gord Wonnick.
4. The next Curling Fun Night is Saturday, January 22. The sponsor for the night is Quiznos. For $10 per person, there is instruction for new curlers, a couple of mini-games, and Quiznos sandwiches, wraps, and pizza.
Fun Nights are a great opportunity to introduce your firends to the game or to get more playing time for yourself.
Novice and experienced curlers are welcomed. Experienced curlers can also help with instruction and/or coaching. So come on out on the 22nd for a Fun Night of Curling. No need to sign up in advance.
